May 13,2017 will go down in history as one of the best days of my life . I will graduate from the illustrious Howard University. My degree will read a “ Bachelor of Arts in Media,Journalism, and Film with a Concentration in Journalism, with a minor in Afro-American Studies.
Howard is the school finesse. I’ve learned that Howard is all of what you make it,if you’re not ready to grow up then Howard is not for you. Howard is going to be the best time of your life because you have to really fight for everything, it teaches you to be responsible in addition to have a sense of urgency with everything you do.
Of course every school has its ups and downs.
Financially even if you have a scholarship is the biggest pain in the ass. Also the cafe food is horrible most likely you won’t need that after your freshman year. A lot of the teachers have accents so you probably won’t understand them. Washington DC has some of the most bipolar weather in the world, if you guys winter it is anything like ours there is going to have about 10-15 snow days.
All in all you just have to be flexible and be willing to learn. As you embark on this journey don’t be afraid to be yourself, people will respect you more and like you if you are yourself. Also do not be afraid to join organizations people put this pressure on you because it’s like the hunger games and people only think it’s about popularity but all in all you can do anything you put your mind.
As the end of the semester ends, we see the culmination of the upcoming graduates. The class of 2017 has seen its share of highs and lows but overall they have persevered through it all the adversity Howard could throw at them.
Lastly, TURN THE HELL UP ! This was the most fun I’ve had in my life because Howard is known for being the most fun just turn-up and have fun!
